Getting to Jiuzhaigou
Land By Bus
From Chengdu's Chadianzi bus station there are four daily buses to Jiuzhaigou (around Y100, 7.20am, 8am, 8.40am and 2pm); Xinnanmen station also has one (Y92, 8am). If you are coming from Gansu via Zoige, you will have to go through Songpan. From Songpan to Jiuzhaigou (Y28, 3hrs, 3 times daily), the journey tough though, will go up and over some gorgeous scenery.
Between October and April, snow often cuts off access to Jiuzhaigou for weeks on end. Even at the best of times, transport is not plentifuk. However, hitching to Jiuzhaigou on tour bus has happened occasionally.
Air
Flights currently operate from Chengdu(within Y1,000, 40mins). After expansion in 2006, direct flights are available from Beijing, Chongqing, Xian, and few others.
Airport shuttles (Y45, 1.5hrs) wait outside for arrivals and leave when full. So you might have to wait for a while, as most of your fellow passengers have already booked their transfers.
